We are currently in search of a highly qualified and compassionate Home Support Worker to provide dedicated support and assistance to our mother. This role is of utmost importance to us, as we seek an individual who can ensure the well-being, comfort, and quality of life of our loved one. Our mom physically is fairly health, and we believe maintaining that level of activity is also beneficial to her mental health. Two of her key passions are cooking and gardening.
Our priority is to find a Home Support Worker who not only meets these qualifications but also shares our commitment to providing the best possible care for our mother. Our mom’s quality of life is key to us in terms of how she spends her times, which means the Home Support Worker need to be engaging and drive stimulating activities. Preferred knowledge of computer skills is desirable.
Job Duties:
• Administer beside and personal care, and assisting the client with medication reminders in accordance with care plans;
• Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, prepare meals breakfast, lunch and dinner;
• Accompany client to medical and dentist appointments as well as social visits.
• Guide and support daily exercise inclusive of walking outside when weather permitting; gardening in the spring and summer and assist in baking
• Launder clothing and household lines, perform housekeeping and cleaning duties;
• Provide care and companionship.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
• At least 1 year of experience in the field or in a similar healthcare related role;
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate - College or other courses in home support would be an asset;
• First Aid Certificate would be an asset;
• Preferred knowledge of computer skills is desirable.
• Good English Language skills
What we are offering:
• Starting rate of pay is $21.00 per hour;
• Work hours: 40 hours per week
• Location of work: North York, ON M3J 1S7
