MT Home Care (private residence) is seeking a full-time Home Support Worker to provide care and support for family members, including a senior and an adult with a disability.

- Minimum 1 year of full-time experience providing care to individuals with senior/dementia/reduced mental capacity
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR Certificate
- Ability to perform the job duties
Language Requirements:
- English required
- Japanese considered an asset

Wage:
$24.65/hour
Hours:
30 hours per week

Job Duties:
- Provide personal care and support in a private residence for individuals (a senior with dementia and significant mobility challenges and an adult with mental health challenges).
- Provide companionship and emotional support through conversation and shared activities to reduce isolation and promote cognitive stimulation.
- Monitor the individuals’ safety during meals and daily activities to prevent choking or aspiration.
- Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals according to dietary needs; assist with feeding and maintain grocery lists.
- Encourage and monitor adequate hydration and nutrition to prevent dehydration, urinary tract infections, and unintended weight loss.
- Assist with personal hygiene, including face, dental, body, and perineal care, and provide support with incontinence management and dressing.
- Support safe mobility and positioning, including assistance transfers and the use of mobility aids (such as walkers, commodes, or wheelchairs).
- Observe and report changes in the individuals’ condition to the family member(employer) or healthcare providers as appropriate.
- Assist with daily living activities, ensuring safety, dignity, and comfort at all times.
- Provide light housekeeping as needed.
