Sheet metal, heating and ventilation technician (NOC 72102)

Job duties

Working in sheet metal shop fabricating custom components, assisting red seal Journeyman.

Reading blueprints to follow design builds as per engineering drawings and work specifications, and lay out, measure and mark sheet metal according to drawings or templates.

Installing duct work, fans and heating equipment in commercial and residential buildings.

Developing patterns for sheet metal using computer-assisted design and drafting (CAD) software.

Terms of employment

Permanent, full-time (40 hours/week)

Expected Employment Start Date: as soon as possible

Wage

$36.75/hr

Benefits

4% vacation pay

Location of work

Our business address and various work sites in remote areas in between Whistler and Lillooet, British Columbia.

Skills requirements – Education and Work experience

Education:

• Secondary school is required
• Schooling in a technical field is required
• Post-secondary degree in mechanical engineering or similar is an asset

Work Experience:

• At least one year of technical experience such as electrician or service technician is required
• Previous sheet metal fabrication experience is required
• Demonstrable experience in working with CAD software is required

Spoken and written English required
