Carpenter

Edge Vancouver Construction Group Ltd. is looking for an experienced Carpenter for full-time, permanent work for the right individual.

Wages are $36.60 per hour, plus 4% in lieu of vacation. Medical/dental after three months.

Job Requirements:
1. At least 2 years of carpentry experience
2. Minimum completion of high school (high school diploma)
3. English is required at a functional level

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Prepare tenders and quotation
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
• Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
• Survey building locations and levels
• Instruct apprentices
• Supervise other workers
• Estimate costs and materials
• Operate CADD and other computer software systems
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
