Position: Assistant Cook

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Cook. In this role, you will provide support in various kitchen and food service tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our catering service.

Duties:

·         Assist in preparing traditional Filipino dishes, such as adobo, lumpia, and sinigang, etc. ensuring authenticity and consistent flavor.

·         Support the head chef in maintaining smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods, ensuring timely meal preparation.

·         Monitor food waste and provide insights to enhance efficiency and minimize kitchen costs.

·         Participate in setting up and breaking down kitchen stations for daily service and special catering events.

·         Help organize and rotate ingredients to ensure freshness and minimize spoilage.

·         Collaborate with kitchen staff to uphold high standards of presentation and food quality.

·         Assist in preparing and packaging takeout and catering orders, ensuring they meet our quality standards for presentation and accuracy.

·         Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.

·         Follow proper food handling and safety protocols to ensure the health and safety of our customers.

Qualifications:

• On the job training will be provided - previous experience in the food industry, in a customer service-oriented role, or in a similar role is preferred;
• Secondary school diploma or its equivalent;
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on quality and detail.
• Good English language skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Compensation:

• Permanent, full-time position with lots of room to grow!
• Hourly salary of $34.07, with a minimum of 30 hours per week.
• Overtime rate will apply after 44 hours of work per week.
• Location of Work: 2184 Eglington Avenue West, Toronto, ON
