Countertop Installer

Atlas Stone Products Ltd.  has a vacancy for a Countertop Installer. We have been supplying custom fabrication and installation to the Vancouver area since 1980.  Our 35,000 square foot fabrication plant has the latest tools, technology, and expertise to effectively process granite, marble, quartz, porcelain, and solid surface to whatever the specification may be.

We have recently been awarded with 3 large commercial projects with their construction duration running well into 2027. In addition to these large contracts, we have a significant amount of pending work to service our existing clients.

Title of position

Countertop Installer (NOC 73200)

Job duties

• Read and interpret work order details and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures according to project scope; compile all project details
• Read and interpret production drawings and blueprints
• Install bathroom vanity countertops, kitchen countertops and kitchen backsplash
• Perform miscellaneous on-site and in shop production work such as chip repair, raw material layout and breakout, edge finishing and polishing and cutting and shaping work pieces, using various hand and power tools
• Ensure accuracy of finished pieces and production drawings
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Deliver finished product to job sites
• Maintain clean delivery vehicles
• Coordinate with Production Team Lead for deadlines and priorities
• Operate and maintain a 5-axis Waterjet
• Prepare production files for use on a Waterjet

Terms of employment

Permanent, full-time position (40 hours a week).

Expected Employment Start Date: as soon as possible

$35.00/hour

Skills requirements – Education and Work experience

Education: Secondary (high) school required. Some Post-Secondary is preferred.

Work Experience:

• 3 years minimum experience working in the stone industry as a countertop installer or similar
• 2 years minimum experience working on large construction sites (can be part of the 3 years minimum noted previously)
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Ability to read and interpret measurements in both metric and imperial units and the ability to perform mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, etc.) in both units of measure
• Ability to move objects of up to 75lbs
• Ability to climb and descend a minimum of 5 flights of stairs. Our projects are mostly high-rise developments and in many cases the elevators are not in operation.
• Experience operating a 5-axis Waterjet machine or comparable equipment is an asset.
