Responsibilities
Tasks
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes – Cook authentic South Indian dishes such as dosas, idlis, vadas, curries, and chutneys while ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances – Modify recipes and use alternative ingredients to accommodate dietary restrictions, such as gluten-free or dairy-free options, without compromising authenticity.
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food – Guide kitchen assistants on traditional South Indian cooking techniques, hygiene standards, and proper ingredient handling.
- Clean kitchen and work areas – Maintain a hygienic and organized kitchen by following cleaning schedules and food safety regulations.
- Organize buffets and banquets – Plan and execute South Indian buffet setups and large catering events, ensuring timely service and an authentic dining experience.
