Job Type: Permanent Full-time Job

Terms of Employment: 40 hours per week.

Salary: $20/hour

Anticipated Start Date: November 2024

Education: Not Required

Credentials: (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc., not required)

Experience: 7 months to less than one year. Childcare providers may require completing a training program in child care or a related field. Childcare or household management experience may be required for less than one year.

Language: English

Work Settings: Private Home

Children Ages:  Primary school age child

Work Schedule: Mondays to Fridays from 12:30 pm to 8:30 pm

Job duties and responsibilities:  

·           Assume full responsibility for the household in absence of parents;

·           Child’s laundry and cleaning up after the child;

·           Disciplining the child according to the parent's methods;

·           Instruct child in personal hygiene and social development;

·           Keep records of daily activities and health information of the child;

·           Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home;

·           Organizing activities such as games and outings for the child;

·           Preparing and serving nutritious meals;

·           Preparing the child for evening bedtime;

·           Sterilizing bottles, preparing formulas and changing the diaper of the child;

·           Supervising and caring for the child;

·           Taking child to playdates;

·           Tending to the emotional well-being of the child;

·           Caring and supervising the child in the Employers Home;

·           Prepare and serve nutritious meals;

·           Bathe, dress and assist during mealtime;

·           Organize and plan age-appropriate games and outings for children,

·           Prepare the children for rest periods;

·           Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home;

·           Tend to the emotional well-being of the children.

Preference for this position will be given to Canadians, permanent residents, newcomers and asylum seekers in Canda, indigenous, youth, older workers and people with disabilities with the appropriate experience.
