Job duties of a Construction Labourer include:
· Handle the loading and unloading of construction materials.
· Transport materials to designated areas.
· Assemble and disassemble various structures, such as concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
· Prepare and apply materials like concrete and asphalt.
· Assist skilled tradespeople, including carpenters, bricklayers, cement finishers, roofers, and glaziers, with their tasks.
· Support heavy equipment operators by attaching special equipment, guiding them, and offering assistance.
· Assist in aligning pipes and performing tasks related to pipeline construction.
· Aid in drilling and blasting rock at construction sites.
· Level ground to precise specifications using hand tools.
· Assist in demolishing buildings, sorting salvageable materials, and cleaning up debris.
· Operate pneumatic tools, vibrators, tampers, and other equipment as needed.
· Maintain and operate machines or equipment used in construction, such as mixers, compressors, and pumps.
· Clean up chemical spills and safely remove hazardous materials, including asbestos.
· Perform regular maintenance tasks like oiling and greasing hoists and similar equipment.
· Direct traffic near construction sites to ensure safety.
· Carry out other duties as assigned on construction sites.
Language of work: English
Required education: High school or equivalent
Required work experience: Experience is an asset
