Kurzfeld Law is looking for Two (2) Legal Administrative Assistants to perform duties, including but not limited to the following:
- Schedule and confirm appointments
- Open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and other material and co-ordinate the flow of information internally and with clients
- Prepare and key in correspondence and legal documents
- Collaborate with Case managers taking responsibility for the application process and submission: perform initial assessment of information and/or documents including collecting documents, working with immigration forms, and drafting required documents and application package; Maintain filing system (client files) utilizing the firm’s client management software to work with tasks, assignments, and other initiatives and frequently controlling confidential materials and documents; Request and assign documents to clients on the case management system and review the documents submitted; Conduct research of government resources to ensure processes are current and appropriate documents/immigration forms are being used; Draft submission letters; Maintain quality communication with clients by responding to email inquiries (over 100 messages per day) and voice calls; Respond to inquiries within a short time and adhere to strict schedules; Create online accounts;
- Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammatical usage
- Perform other general office work as required including basic bookkeeping tasks
- May supervise and train other staff in procedures and in the use of current software
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Windows, Adobe Acrobat Reader, MS Office, Electronic mail, Infoflo, Monday

Terms of Employment:
- Salary: $25 per hour
- Permanent, Full Time / 40 hours per week
- Start date: immediately

Skills requirements:
- Language: English
- Education: High School or relevant experience
- Experience: Completion of a one- or two-year college or other program for administrative assistants or secretaries or previous clerical experience of at least one (1) year in processing applications, e.g. Economic Class, Temporary Resident, Sponsorship and LMIA, Immigration, Citizenship and Refugee portals; Excellent typing skills an asset, Ability to work alone, or with little supervision. Willingness to accommodate clients and staff. Be available for occasional urgent work when necessary.
