Job duties

 

·       Supervise operations of food truck specializing in European pastry

·       Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of baking personnel and kitchen stuff

·       Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods

·       Draw up production schedule to determine type and quantity of goods to produce

·       Hire and train baking personnel and kitchen staff in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures

·       Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards

·       Purchase baking supplies

·       Prepare dough for chimney cakes (doughnut-like, rotisserie baked European pastries) and cones according to recipes or special customer orders

·       Bake mixed doughs and batters

·       Frost and decorate cakes or other baked goods

·       Operate machinery

 

Terms of employment

 

Indeterminate (permanent), full-time (40 hours/week).

 

Expected Employment Start Date: April 1, 2024

 

Wage

 

$20/hour

Skills requirements – Education and Work experience

 

Education: Secondary school required; completion of a training program for bakers an asset.

 

Work Experience: two years of experience in a restaurant or similar food service industry setting, including supervisory experience, required. At least six months of experience as baker and experience with preparation of yeast dough required.

 

Language requirements:

 

Oral and written English required.
